Why does my albino tiger oscar keep pulling my plants up out of the gravel? I've never seen anything like it. I picked him up from a petstore cuz he was all by himself and I felt bad. Now it's just annoying he won't leave that plant alone and as soon as I put it back in place he rips it out again. The plant is gonna die soon if I can't figure out how to stop him from doing that.

I would quit worrying on trying to figure out how to stop him as digging up plants is pretty common behavior for oscars.

Yup. Lol if he decides he doesn't like the plant, he's not gonna leave it alone. Oscars are notorious tank rearrangers. You could try moving the decor around to confuse him a bit and he may leave it alone.

That actually sounds like a good idea. Thanks for the input

Out of curiosity, what is your tank size? Most people pick up an Oscar because it looks abandoned or cool looking, and then later discover they need at least a 75 gallon tank. Like meeeee :( he's rehomed now.

You could try some large rocks around the base of the plant. Thats what i did for my red devil but if he realy wants to remove it he will one way or another. Thats one of the things i love about sa / ca cichlids. They are like children. Tell then not to do it and as soon as you turn around they do it. LOL

He's currently in my 55 gallon as he is very small and gets pushed around too much by the current in my 90 gallon. When he gets bigger I'm gonna move him either to the 90 or 125 depending on what I have stocked in those tanks by the time he is big enough.
