So, I recently put I 24" finnex fugeray planted+ into my 20g high tank. I noticed a bit of algae showing up on the driftwood closest to the light, which didn't bother me at first because it gives the driftwood a nice natural look. Then it started to show up on the glass and the little rock cave at the bottom, which I am not so happy about.

I tried to reduce the light by cutting a few hours back for a little over a week, but my narrow leaf micro sword is really not liking that and it doesn't seem to be doing anything for the algae. I have bumped my light back up to 8hrs. I do a weekly 30% PWC and have been dosing 2ml Excel every night for the last 2 weeks. I just got my scale in the mail yesterday, so today was the first time dosing with dry ferts using PPS dosing method.

Not sure which type of algae or how to get rid of it and keep it gone. Will the ferts help with that over time or is there something else I should do?

Any help on how to get rid of this, keep it from coming back or identifying the type of algae would be really appreciated.
