Help! 8O I'm not sure what is in my java moss, but I'm pretty sure it can't be good. I'm worried it may be the dreaded beard algae, but I need some help on IDing it. Also, can someone tell me what I should do to get rid of it? I have it tied to a piece of driftwood, and it's only been in my tank for about 48 hours now.

Whew thanks for the quick response guys. 8) I wasn't looking forward to hearing that it was the dreaded beard algae. Just a little dirt, it wont hurt!

if its not debris, I'd say it looks like brown diatoms, which will go away on their own eventually.
