I got ticked at my horrid nitrite level that was unreadable high. So while doing basic weekly water change on my other tank I was changing out the polishing pad and I decided to rinse that out in the 36, and then I stuffed it in the back of the HOB. Finally this morning my levels look great!!!!
Ammo 0
Nitrite 0-.25
Nitrates 80
pH 8
Basically cycled in a week how cool is that!!!!

After the amount of filter material that I put in there it still took way longer than I thought it would! I put ceramic rings in 1 filter, the other has a filter pad and an old filter cartridge, plus the hardscape that I have had in my tank, which was 3 pieces of driftwood, about 20 plants. All that was before I added the polishing pad!
