I recently set up a 80 gallon goldfish tank at my work and I decided to just add some extra ammo chips we had laying around into the filter to help keep the ammonia from spiking ( I also seeded the filter with bacteria from an established tank). Strangely enough, it's been about 2 weeks with 15-20 goldfish and the water is reading at all zeros- ammo, trites, trates. I know the test kits are functional because all of the other tanks are reading normal so my only real conclusion is that the ammonia removers are doing their job, very well.

Though I guess it's possible the nitrates are just unreadably low..

Basically I know most liquid ammonia removers only work for about 24 hours so I was never big on recommending them, but if the ammo rocks really work as well as they seem to be I might start suggesting more people buy them when cycling their tank.
