i have a small anenome that must have hitchhicked in on some live rock. It is about the width of a nickel, reddish in color with a long base and tentacles. any idea on what it might be?

it is most likely aptaisa. If it is you should look into removing it. They are bad. If you can post a pic then you can get a positive id.

As stated above it is most likely aptasia. It will spread quickly. My peppermint shrimp cleared out all my aptasia but 3 big ones(they like the small ones). I am getting some "joes juice" for the big ones

I had a few a few aptasia in my nano. I added a peppermint shrimp and they were gone in a week.
