Angel fish

Ok I'm thinking of getting 4 freshwater angel fish. my ph is always between 7 and 7.5. my ammonia is 0,nitrite 0 and my nitrate is 10ppm.i keep my water at 80 decrees Fahrenheit. its is a planted 55 gallon with a dwarf gourmai, striped ralpheal, black ghost knife that never comes out and a rainbow shark. if you have had angel fish could you help me. we have 2 stores that sell them a local Petsmart and a locally started pet shop that has specialist there in the freshwater department where should i go both places i can return the fish.
please help cause I've read on the internet they are hard and easy and heard from people the same one says easy the other says hard and want to know from someone who has experience.
please someone help me

Small Angel fish are more sensitive versus a medium size. My experience has been good with Angels.
If you buy 4, there is a chance that you will get a pair, once they paiu they will be agressive towards the other fish, specially the other two angel... maybe you will need to re-home the other two...
There is a chance also of fighing with the gourami

i would have to say no... adding angelfish is not a good idea. There is no guarantee that they will pair, so that just may cause aggression in the tank. In my opinion, this tank is overstocked as is. The striped ralphea can grow to 8ish inches, the black ghost can grow HUGE, to over 16inches when an adult, and the rainbow shark grows to about 6 inches. i would advise against any more fish, especially since their is a good chance you BGK is sick (as you said in your other post).

i didn't mean now in the future and my tank is not over stocked for your info my freind has a black ghost knife for 5 years and it only grew 15 inches and she had 10 tiger barbs,clown pleco, and 3 african leaf fish

perhaps someone else would like to chime in, but I'm fairly confident in the overstocking of this tank. Black Ghost knife fish are fast growing fish, they need more than a 55gal tank even for themselves. I have some experienced friends with them that would never put them in anything less than a 9gal tank. 55 is simply too small for an adult BGK. Im glad your friend has had success, but your BGK is sick, and a cramped tank where he is being chased could be a likely cause for the stress.

that small? well even still, this may be why he is sick, because he is being picked on. He will need more than a 55gal tank for sure. Id love to see a picture of how he is acting, perhaps that ill help figure out why he is sick.
