Hey everyone...

Im considering some angel fish for my 40 gallon flat hex back...

Here are my waters levels

PH ~ 7.0
GH ~ 8
KH ~ 3

Are these levels OK for angelfish? My PH can easily change so im very careful with it. My test kits are pretty old so my readings may be off. I'm going to buy some new soon.

Funny problem I had was KH not even registering it was so low out of the aquarium but out of the tap I got about 3.

Thanks in advance to anyone with any info!

From what I have read the GH is a good range for spawning but what about normaly life?

Most of todays angels are farm raised. They are nowhere near as pickey as wild caught types. I keep mine with a ph of 7.6 and gh of 26! They have not spawned though.

Ahh thanks for the info Bass...I think my water should be fine now.

I still am not postive if I'm going to go with angel fish...in fear they might pair and murder some other angels

They are cichlids! I had an angle, body about the size of a quarter, bite and kill a little serape tetra tonight. :x
