Another Sand Question

Are there any advantages to adding live sand to the overflow box on my aquarium? It is a 90 gallon Oceanic tank. thanks!

Not in my opinion. There is simply too much turbulance going on for any denitrification, and with your rock and the sand, you should have plenty of surface are for nitrification.
