Been a while since I visited these shores, and in the absence I drifted from freshwater to saltwater, aided no end by the desire to own frogfish.
Here for all your delights is my Antennarius striatus or splitlure frogfish. These are known for eating anything that fits in their mouth, including other fish of the same species and the same size.
Here he is when I first got him:
And this is what he has grown into:
And here is a vid of him scoffing down a prawn when he was a bit smaller. Now he takes down whitebait about the same length as himself.
And for anyone wondering just how frogfish manage to eat such comparatively large prey, here is a photo I stole from another forum with a view few see and ever return from:
