API freshwater aquarium salt

Hey guys. i have used this product for about a year now but suddenly thought of something. Is this for making a tank brackish or just a stress remover and slime coat thingy? REALLY unsure now... itll be a major buzzkill if it does, cuz i spent like 15 bucks on a giant carton...

Aquarium salt is a gimmick. You can buy a giant box of kosher salt from the grocery store for a few dollars and it's the same thing.

It's good to use as a medication, but I wouldn't use it all the time, and if you want to make the tank brackish you need to use marine salt.

Aquarium salt should only be used to treat an illness. Freshwater fish do not need any added salt.
