Api test kit test tube lids leaking

Does anyone else have this problem? After a minute shaking it looks like this

I'll try to be more gentle on the test tube and see if it helps.

I just throw the lid away and use a lid from a old test kit.(I always keep the tubes)

Most of the lids won't be water tight.. pretty normal to have a little leakage.

I just hold the capped tube between thumb and fore/middle finger and apply some pressure to the lid to stop it losing too much fluid.

The tops crack where they seal aginst the rim of the tube. You wont notice it untill its on the tube and at the right angle. I wrap a towel aroung the one i use for nitrAtes while shaking.
