attempt horribly failed.

well i decided to frag my branching hammer.... and failed horribly... 2 heads cracked and broke right down the center. now from what ive read this SHOULD nuke those pieces... but i decided hey whats the harm and put them back in the tank... now all 4 pieces of the 2 heads are opened... fully extended and ive seen one sting a mushroom with its sweepers.... does this mean they might survive? should they reopen if i screwed up this bad?
