I'm new to the hobby so I don't know that much. I'm wondering if maybe I had a baby starfish on some new live rock that I bought. Can somebody tell me if this is a starfish and if so what kind is it?

Astrina? Asteria? Its a small starfish, won't ever get much larger. Scavenger mostly. Mine Munch on Coraline

+1 idk the spelling either but they are harmless.

I agree asterisa star, never seen an orange one though very pretty. I actually
Just noticed two white/grey ones on a piece of LR that came with a new coral. Generally considered reef safe and they multiply quick. Often you will see them missing legs from reproducing. On average I only ever see mine with 2-3 legs.

I have some of the orange ones too, and white ones. I have one that hasn't left my overflow in months bow that is about nickel sized.
