i got some brown strands of something in my tank. they vary in length, one was up to 2 inches. they're very thin but i dont know what they are. i have a large piece of driftwood in the tank i'm wondering if it has to do with that. its been in there since i september and i've never seen this before. i saw a fish try to eat one but spit it out right away. should i be concerned? thanks joe

is it floating in the water or attached to something. Could it be solid waste (i.e. poop). It could be algea. tell us more about your tank and your problem.

Are they solid, or look more like being able to pass through. Perhaps if it is a new piece of drigtwoord, maybe someting is leeching of it, like a natural chemical.

Did you have water parameters before and after? I'd check it out to be safe.
