Hi, I am not sure whats going on with my Golden Gourami and was hoping that somebody here might be able to help.
This morning I noticed that one of my gourami's "feelers" was looking pretty bad.
This is what it looks like: The tissue that connects the feeler to the body of the fish is white, looks slightly torn, and is swollen. The feeler is bright read right next to the body, and this red color continues but fades moving out towards the end of the feeler. The final ~1-2cm of the feeler is normal colored.
The fish's behavior seems normal. It is hanging out in its territory and fed this morning.
I have read a lot about gourami feelers "breaking off," but this seems to be something different from the feeler just getting snapped off, it looks more like a spreading infection or something.
Any thoughts? Anyone seen this before and know what course of action to take.
Thanks.
