balloon ram?

today i went to this aquarium store for the first time. and i asked the man about one cute little fish and he said it was a german blue ram. i said i never seen one like that. he then said it a balloon ram. thirty dollars they were asking for it it almost looked like an angel fish it was very small. can anyone tell me about these fish ?

Balloon rams are a deformity that was bred out of the original species. They've done the same thing to other species, like mollys.

I personally wouldn't ever buy one of them. Since it's a deformity, all of its innards are probably screwed up. I also believe that enough buying of those deformed fish will encourage the breeders to continue to produce them.
