Bare bottom tank

So had to strip my tank down due to pollution from my local water supply, so I have decided to go bare bottom,

Anyone want to throw some pros and cons to me ?

Pros: easy to clean.....that's it.

Cons: Looks like a display tank at a fish shop or a quarantine tank.

I'm with king on this.

Pros: easy to clean and less stuff to maintain.
Cons:
less stuff for beneficial bacteria to grow on(not a major con since a lot of bb will be in your filter)
Its not a very attractive tank
No hiding places for fish

I still have all my bog wood in the tank and silk plants but I'm fed up with issues with substrate, my stock was nearly all wiped out not got much left at all.so was starting up again. Just going for one family type of tropical fish.

We just took the gravel out of one of our tanks. (We are seriously overstocked, but don't know what to do with all the extra guppies.) The bare bottom reflects the undersides of the fish, and we enjoy that. We did weight down the plastic plants and put them in. Doesn't look 'natural', but until we can get our population down, it's a lot easier to keep the bottom clean.

Hey it's good I like the look of it, but there's no way of having a planeted tank ever again

You can use potted plants. Ways to dress them up. For finicky fish it's a no brainer.
