Betta damaged fin

My betta has a damged fin and now th damaged part is black, what should I do to help it heal I already adds a little Salt and an doing fail water changes.

Ok I will try that also the fin is almost black to the base of the tail.

Yikes!! So it's pretty bad. You should probably get some antibiotics like Kanamycin or Maracyn II. Also bump up the salt to 1 teaspoon per 1 gallon of water.

It all started one night I went to bed and his fins were all nice then in the morning there was a big u shaped rip out of his top tail fin since he is a double tail. It kind of surprised me and caused me to wonder what did it.

They are known to attack their own fins
