I've had this betta for about a month. Took an internal filter from a different established tank and did daily water changes for the first week as the tank established. Haven't had any issues since so I don't think there's a problem with the cycle. Tank setup is a 2.5gallon heated with a 25 watt eheim jager heater, and using standard internal filter.

Based on the photos, it doesn't look like dropsy to me. I wonder if it's simply just bloated from overeating. I have noticed that I put in a ton of floating plants (enough to cover most of the surface two weeks ago) and as of now, there's barely any left. I wonder if it's been eating them. I have stopped feeding it and have been doing daily water changes again to keep the water clean for the time being. It has been like this for 4 days now as of this post.

Any advice?
