So I bought my wife a biocube a few weeks ago, set it all up. It is cycled. I decided to run the back as a refugium, got macro algae and the light for it. How many hours a day should that light be on now?

Typical recommendation is to run the fuge light opposite of the display light to maintain a pH balance. Some will run the DT light for 8hrs, the fuge light for 8hrs, and total dark for 8.... some leave the fuge light on 24/7. I personally like the 8/8/8 if you've got a lighter bioload. If you've got a heavier load, you may want DT for 8 & fuge for 16 for more waste export.

I don't have a bio load yet. Just some polyps and another coral. Just ordered cuc for the tank. Thinking just inverts and coral for now.
