BN pleco question

Most of the profile sites say 5 at max, but may not reach it in aquarium. Mine's just a baby, so I'll bow to the more experienced that have more mature specimens.
 
It actually varies, depending on the genes of the individual fish. Usually 5" is the biggest they'll grow, but occasionally you'll find some a little larger or smaller. They've been tank bred for so many generations that they're almost as domesticated as guppies, and since no one has been able to find/collect the same species from the wild it's possible they're a hybrid.
 
The biggest I have personally seen was around 6"to 7", ( gold or alibino)and was sold at auction for $50, bought by an LFS owner. He was a beauty
