so, I've been thinking I need something to prowl the bottom of my tank looking for dropped crumbs.
any ideas?

I have:
convicts
Firemouts
Salvini
Andinoacara Rivulatus
in a 100 gallon tank

the Bichir would be cool, but I'm thinking more of a bottom feeder, than a predator who hangs out on the bottom. I was thinking along the lines of a Pictus Cat, or something. it has to be able to survive in a fairly aggressive tank.

Not sure what size tank and you did presumably only request one, but you could try clown loaches

Striped or spotted raphael cat would work, but you may never see it. I have 2 striped raphael cats in my tank, and I rarely see them.

I was kind of hoping for something that won't end up a foot or more long.

I have 5 huge brochi's (emerald cory) and some bn pleco in mine.
