Breeding jeweled Chiclids?

I have a pair of jeweled chiclids and they have breed a few times now. But they end up eating the eggs, and the fry. I feed them daily so am wondering why they have done this? Should i take the eggs out and hatch them myself?

Well i thought all the eggs and fry had been eaten but boy was i wrong. They are hiding in the stones while the parents fend of the other fish in the tank..... Yay.... I will take the babies out in a week... tank all ready to go for them....
