Brown Film Developing on Tank Items

A brown film had developed on the plants and items in my tank. I'm not sure what it is. I recently performed a water cleaning by removing 2/3 or the water and replaced it. After the swap it appeared on the top of my plants and had slowly worked its way down the tank.

Anyone have an idea what it may be and how to get rid of it.

That would be diatoms. Is this a newish tank?

I had the same thing on a new tank after it was cycled. It will die off.

Not a new tank. I've had it for over a year. I just replaces the filter (let the new filter sit in the tank for a week before I swapped them). I guess I'll just let it go away. At what point do I need to become concerned?
