Bully tiger barbs

We have 5 tiger barbs in with 3 guppies. Ive read the barbs can be aggressive towards them, is this true. Should we take them back to the shop. We were told by the assistant they would be ok together.

Welcome! What size of tank is everyone in? You could try getting more barbs, bigger school SHOULD cut down aggression because they will 'argue' amonst themselves. But you may have to ultimately rehome your guppies.

Thanks for the info, we phoned the shop we got them from and they said the assistant should of known are exchanging the barbs for us. Again thanks
