Who's ready for an update??? :D

Proud to announce I've done a HUGE rescape on my 75g tank!

*drum roll*

5 hours and 100 pounds of sand later!

Can we just take a moment to look at the size of this freakin plant ?

And on to the 10g I've seen some awesome growth and added one of my Hygro. Corymbosa from the big tank. Waiting for it to explode in growth lol.

New diffuser(it's been calibrated now)

Rotala rotundifolia perking up nicely which is awesome considering my past experiences with Rotala indica..

The saltwater my anemone is still giving me a hard time. All levels in check except alkalinity was strangely low.

Congratulations if you actually made it through this post lol.

How did I forget?????

Since I've basically wiped this tank squeaky clean I'm adding my discus back tomorrow!

Nice job Caleb! That is a lot of substrate (and plants, decor, fish, and water) to move. That is a pudgy oto.
I have the same bubble counter. Be careful; where it attaches to the bracket can be fragile. I was thinking about mounting it the the rim of the tank as well but found it easier to make adjustments to the flow having it were near the regulator.

Thanks Fresh! Yes that Oto is very fat lol and he still eats like a pig. I'm still playing with the co2 system. I actually sprayed 24oz of co2 on myself and froze my connector caps the other day ? it was s nice learning experience to say the least.

I just picked up 4 otos tonight to add to the 1 or 2 I already have. Not sure of the count because they like to hide.
This came to mind:

Where were the discus when you rescaped? In your 40g?

Rescape looks good! Your hard work paid off I'd say.

Pics might be tonight or tommorow. Out in town this afternoon.

What he said!

Caleb tanks are looking good, it's awesome how much a dark substrate changes the look of the tank.

Nice to see you here Matt welcome aboard!

Now there was one thing I didn't mention when I was doing the change in my 75g....

Raise your hand if you knew ropefish are escape artists ;)

They can survive 4 hours out of water! Mine decided while I was trying to catch him to put him back in to take a cruise on the living room carpet! Let's say it was like trying to catch any animal that doesn't want to be caught.. A crazy experience! Those guys can move when they want to!

I was following back in your old threads and just found this the other day a day or so after the original post. More often I'm a silent follower, don't know enough yet to contribute to some of the discussions seeing as I'm a med tech guy that does most things DIY.

That is crazy about the ropefish! I can just imagine, caught plenty of eels before and they were a challenge just to get the hook out of....

Wish someone would have got a video of that!

The mystery continues with this 10g planted.

On July 25th my pH was 6.0.

1. My tap is perfect 7.0
2. there is co2 to alter pH
3. No water changes have been done
4. An airstone and powerhead have been added since the 25th.

Now here's the stumper... My pH this morning... Is 8.0!! I triple tested! I'm absolutely stumped how it could even spike that high much less in a tank with co2 helping to lower pH.

Any ideas?

Caleb
