Camallanus worms

Anyone know what is available in australia to get rid of these worms

i guess i should mention, i have found that one of my guppies has the think red worms coming out of him. i can not see it on any of my other fish, but im assuming they would prob be affected as well.

Get some Avitrol Plus tablets. It's available from most LFS (it's a bird wormer). I found my gourami had camellanus worms a couple of weeks back. Dosed the tank, worms disappeared in 4 hours, gravel vacuumed 5-6 hours after dose, didn't fill tank back up and did a 50% PWC of remaining water 3 days later with another vac. Haven't seen any signs since.

Great thanks that's something I can get easily enough. Did u do the 1 tab per 10 liters?

Yes, I used 1 tablet per 10 Litres of tank water. Crushed them up in a ceramic bowl using the back of a spoon then dissolved the powder in some tank water before adding it to the tank. It will turn the tank cloudy for a bit but it clears.

No, it contains glucose. I've read reports of it turning the tank into a goopy bacteria bloom and causing fish to suffocate. I'm fairly sure you can buy the pills online.

Yep ta. I was only able to get the Liquid locally , so have bought the tablets off eBay. Thanks for your help and prompt reply
