Can I cycle a new tank with an ADF?

Hello everyone

I have a 5 gallon tank with an African dwarf frog and I am planning to upgrade to a 16 gallon tank. Can I cycle the new tank with the frog? Would that be recommended?. I also want to get a couple of platies

You can cycle a tank with any aquatic animal. It simply needs to produce a steady source of ammonia. A 16 gallon tank will need several such frogs to produce enough waste to start the nitrogen cycle. It's the dissolved waste from the animals that mixes with oxygen that starts the cycle.
