Can I replace my power filter with my refugium?

I have received my hang on refug. but their is not enough room for my power filter now.

Do I need to have a power filter on my tank? My only other mechanical filtration is a protein skimmer.

If you have a sufficient amount of LR, you do not need the power filter at all. You may, depending on how much flow you have in the tank, need to add a powerhead to make up for the flow from the power filter. It's best to have about 10x flow (75gal tank = 750 gph) in the tank, although you can have more if you wish. Reefrunner has about 30x in his tank and I have almost that much in mine.
