Can I use my Pleco as a cleaner??

Hi

So I have Pleco... In n tank with other fish and I have a second tank, smaller , a lot smaller, with only guppies but it's filled with algea.

My question:
Can I place my Plankie (Pleco) in the guppies tank to do some cleaning??

Could, but acclimating him to new surroundings might stress him. Some other options would be nerite snails, who do not reproduce in freshwater or Oto's who could be long term occupants.

Plecos might not like small tank either.

i'd look into a siamese algae eater. Do your research with this fish there are a couple of fish flying fox chinese algae eater that look similar or similar names but are aggressive or not as good at eating algae
