Can I use T5 lamps?

I currently have 2-18" T8/15w lamps in my fixture, it came in with my marineland 60 gal kit. Can I change those lamps with T5 lamps?

Also, which lights give the brightest light output?

You'd need to get new fixtures to use t5 bulbs. If you are going that route, though, I'd just go with t5ho. Can a 4ft fixture fit on the tank? There are some reasonably priced 4ft t5ho fixtures on ebay and online everywhere, just depending on your budget and goal.
