Canister filter

Hi all, I'm someone who has always done hob or sponge filters. What is the best filter media to use with it? It's a zoo med 501 turtle canister filter, and I was just curious as to what filter media works best for people.

Anything will perform well. A lot of people swear by ceramic rings but personally, I feel that as long as the filter is handling the ammonia production then there's no reason to fiddle with the media.
