Can't believe the fish bag used in lfs and used for so long!

The friendliest place on the web for anyone with an interest in aquariums or fish keeping!

I bring a very soft cooler with me every time I go to a LFS, even if I don't plan on buying anything (impulse buys anyone?).

It's long enough I can place the bag horizontally and not worry about injuring the fish. Doing this I normally ask that a little more water be placed in the bags than normal, since the water is being distributed over a larger area. They are only in the tied bags for maybe 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. Plenty of air for them.

ive bought fish for years. they've never wedges themselves in those corners of the bag during transport. at home, when im trying to scoop them up with a net, then yes they scurry into those corners, but i just wave my hand suddenly at those corners, scaring them out and into the net. as for transport, i just try to make sure the bag is upright and that the animal does'nt jostle around too much, so i take it easy driving- like no sudden stops and such. a tank for the bags is a good idea. double bag is good too. velcro and a dog coat is off the deep end...

Sometimes depending who serves me they tape the corners of the bag to the sides so the fish cant get trapped in them. Im sure most people would do this if you asked.
