I have got 10 cardinals in my 5 gal QT for about 2 wks now. I do not want to add them all to main tank (25 gal moderately planted) at the same time. I would like add in batches. Any advice how many at a time and how space the batches time wise? Thanks.

is there any reason why you don't want to add them all at once? Is it to allow your cycle to adjust?

Yes. that's correct. I am worried adding 10 at the same time would increase the bio load dramatically...... I have been very good (this time!) with these cardinals with proper QT and everything!

Cardinals have a pretty low bio-load ... adding all shouldn't do much. However, go 5 and then the other 5 about a week later. I would say a week should allow any BB to adjust.

I agree with jcolon. If you are really worried than do 5 and 5. I'd test the water and do water changes as needed and shortly after do the other 5.
