I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what fish would be good at getting rid of this algae problem I have. It's a ten gallon tank with low lighting and a sand substraight. The algae seems to grow ontop of the sand and plants in what I could best discribe as a carpet.

TIA

I've never known a fish to eat it... what is your light (watts and schedule), what do you fertilize if any? you may need to manually remove it or add some stem plants....

hey brendan - are you talking about cyanobacteria or brush algae? were you a member of the prosoundweb.com forum? your name and avatar look familiar :)

here is a link to ID the algae: http://aquabotanicwetthumb.infopop.cc/eve/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=4006090712&f=8796060812&m=3256098022&r=3256098022#3256098022
