I've used Nature's Ocean Aquarium Sand in a new tank. It isn't sand but a gravel substrate with what appear to be sharp edges. I'd like to have a scavenger to clean it when I stock the tank. I was hoping to have catfish but I'm uncertain if the substrate is too rough for them. Any suggestions or alternatives? Thanks !

Thanks

I was hoping for either Longfin Pandas or Sterbais.

It's a 29-gallon tank with Nature's Ocean Aquarium Sand - Activ-Flora Planted Substrate Flora-CORE RED.

Here's a pic:

Hello, corys will try to bury thier heads in substrate & from the looks of yours they may loose thier barbells or damage eyes. If you can take a sm amount & rub in palms w/no damage then it will work. Snails might work for you. Hope this helps!
