chaeto alive or dead?

Need some experts. Ordered some chaeto for my fuge. 2 day shipping ended of taking 5 days due to snow. My chaeto arrived and am not sure if its dead or alive. All other critters in my order perished as well. Chaeto looks green. Put it in just to see if it would grow. Any thoughts?

smell it,if it smells like rotten eggs its just about dead,My chaeto lasted in a tank with no lights and temp down to 7 degrees for 2 months but still looked green but stank,so i tossed it.

I would imagine it`s OK. Try the smell test as mentioned above.

Went home and put the old sniffer on it. It smells like the beach. It didtnt smell great by any means, but definitely not rotten eggs.

probably ok,just try it.make sure its in water flow and has light
