Aquarium Advice Freak
Since doing alot of research on converting my FW in to SW, I was learning that the cost to convert would be astinomical($1000+) SO.....
My DH & I took a trip to a LFS that has been rated #1 here in Minnesota(World of Fish) I was impressed. We looked around for a bit before "Bob" (real name) asked us if we needed any help. We told him what we had(125g angels and assorted other fish) and what we wanted(more color)
I said SW was not in the budget right now. Thats fine he said and showed us to 2 display tanks that had Cichlids in it(adult size and smaller) They were stunning. We talked, asked questions, he told us that they were "really" hardy and we would have no problems keeping cichlids.
So we bought 40# of rock, went home to catch and trade some fish, and clean and install the rock.
Went back with 14 fish to trade for cichlids.(I did keep my Angels)
Upon returning to the store, I had asked Bob how long he has worked there, 14 years he told me. This guy was not only a wealth of knowledge, but an employee who took "the time" to explain everything we wanted to know. He also told me about his "personal" tanks at home. Bob knew his stuff!!
I ended up leaving with 5 new baby cichlids.
I'm VERY happy with the way I was treated and the look of my new tank!!
I WILL be back for more.
