Most petco stores are having $1 a gallon sales up to 55 gallons. That's always a great start. But I'm not sure where you are from. Craigslist is also a good place

The tank itself should be much cheaper than that. Are you talking about all in set up cost? I have a 55 that was about $1200 to set up not including livestock but including all rock and sand. I have since dropped another $270 on lighting when I started adding corals...
