Chemicals/meds - melafix

I just need some quick advice on using Melafix in my tank. I was told to take ALL live plants out before using it. Online I can not find a reference to this and I don't want to kill my plants. If I do take them out while using Melafix, can I just put them in water for a few days?? I thought I had Ich, but it has to be something else now. Only two fish had Ich like symptoms, but none other, so I think it is something else all together, so Melafix goes in today after a 25% water change and carbon is out of filters.

If its ich you can treat it with heat.

Is it Metafix or "Melafix". Melafix, in a green bottle is safe for plants and never had a problem with it with snails either.

It is Melafix I've put in tank water.
