I was given a 55g that was bought used from a petstore. I have no idea of the history on this tank and have no way to find it out. Because of this I want to make sure it's really clean before using it. I was thinking of using some bleachy water to sanitize it, this sound ok to everyone?

Welcome to AA, secretagent!:D

1 part bleach in 19 parts water will kill everything - even viruses. Vinegar and a razor blade will remove salt deposits. Then, rinse, rinse, rinse, rinse, rinse, rinse! The final rinse should have a double dose of dechlorinator.

Since this is a used tank (history unknown), I would fill it with water and leave it in your garage for a few days to check for leaks. Good find!
