So I have some java moss now (thanks serverum mama) I've read that it grows fast the question I have is when I vac do I treat it like gravel and just vac it or is there another way

Do you mean cleaning the moss? If so there is not much you can do other than shake it around in some tank water. Java moss is a notoriously slow grower. I'm not sure where you read it was a fast growing plant. If you used your gravel vacuum on the moss it would just get sucked up.

Thanks I was just worried about any waste that is under it not really in it...everything I have read on the internet says it grows pretty quick

No java moss is a fairly slow growing plant. Many aquatic plants that can grow in low light conditions are.
