Help?
I have set up a new salt water tank it has been running with no fish or rock for 5 weeks now and it has gone cloudy. Tests indicate that it has cycled and ready to go. I am only new to this and was looking forward to getting my first few fish but cant seem to get the water clear.

My Local fish shop advised that i get micro Filter wool which I have and it has been running for 24 hours and no change.

Help?

Im no expert, but I would think a partial water change and replacing the filter media should help.

First off, I would add my live rock next, and simotaniously run some GAC, Granular active Carbon to help clear up the cloudyness. A one third water change would help too.

You would be surprized at how well the live rock will help tho. It should be part of your main natural filter system also.

Cheers.
