I dont have any immediate plans for CO2 injection, but have a question in the interest of learning something new today.

Injecting CO2 causes a pH drop. I just read on another thread that 1.0 to 1.2 drop is desirable. How does this affect fish? Are you limited to selecting fish that are low pH tolerant? If you decide to use CO2 on an already set up and stocked aquarium will the pH drop kill the fish?

How does this affect fish?

It does not affect the fish (acclimation to these levels should be considered).

Dissolved CO2 creates carboxylic acid, a weak acid, thus lowering the pH. It does not alter osmotic pressure (like some pH swings), which can harm fish.

No

No it will not (acclimation to these levels should be considered)
