Will male guppies overwhelm and bother my female platys?

If you have guppies its best to do male only, sometimes males will harass the female of a different species. I had one male guppy that thought my male platy was a girl and tired to mate with him. Much to his chagrin.

One female will be harassed to death. All livebearers, if keeping males and females, must be kept with the minimum ratio of 1M:2F.
