Conditioning for mating.

Hi Has anyone ever conditioned fish of any kind on flake, dry and frozen foods? I had Blue Eye Rainbows spawn late March. They haven't spawned since. Should I try live food? maybe Brine sprimp? But what would the difference be from frozen? thanks

Cooler water changes and frozen foods will stimulate fish to spawn. Next time the Rainbow's spawn log everything down from water parameters to what you were feeding them.

I boiled drift wood to leach out tannins. but it still leached a nice sepia tone to the water. The Rainbows spawned in the sepia tune water. Now the leaching is over and water is clear. Could the Rainbows like the sepia water?
