i upgraded my aquaclear from the smaller one to the biggest one, and as i was moving the live rock from the filter, I noticed little brine shrimp looking like creatures, i figure these are the pods that the mandarin fish eats, but am not sure. Anyone know what it is that i found? I released them into the tank and they were mostly eaten by my purple tang.

Copepods? isopods? is there any harm in these little creatures?

In the case of isopods, potentially yes, depending on the type. Certain ones are known parasites (carnivores?) on fish. Lots of info can be searched out online and on this board - I'll defer to the experts here and tag along for some better info than I can give.
