I am sorry if this is a question that has been answered but I have read what I have been able to find and the situation is very different than what I have read.
I understand that when you introduce driftwood to a tank you may can get a white cotton substance.
I filled a 20 gal tank with tap water.
I added prime water conditioner. 4 hours later I added stress zyme. Then I took a piece of drift wood that had a moss type plant growing on it from my 60 gal tank where it has been for 4 months, and placed it in the 20 Gal.
one hour after a web like stuff was all over the tank. If I try to take it out of the tank it breaks up and floats all over the tank. Although there is no fish in the tank there is vegetation I will be growing in there that I will place in the other tanks that the fish will eat. Is this stuff harmful for my fish?
Any idea's This picture is after 3 hours. No filter just air stone in the tank at the moment.
