Crab id

[Belladauna]

Been trying to snap a pic of him/her for months. Finally it sneaks out for a peek almost fully. Harmful or safe? It's has the fur of its legs like an emerald crab

It looks like a Xanthid crab to me. I wouldn't say it's safe. I hate to kill crabs unless I find them doing something bad, but it's a possibility.

I figured that's the type it was. Thanks again. I'll read up on them. Still clicking in the tank and can't find the source. No mantis have popped out to "play". I don't want to have to soda all my live rock. But I want to find out whats causing it and get rid of it before I add my fish.

It very well could be the crab, digging his cave. Chipping away at the rock with his claws can make a clicking sound.
